A Choral Tradition
St. Peter's Church proudly maintains a choral tradition
as an important part of its ministry.

Above: Adam and Olly, our Head Choristers
St. Peter's Choirs lead the music at two choral services each Sunday. This duty is carried out by a voluntary body of Choristers and Gentlemen. The junior members of the Boys' Choir and Girls' Choir attend local schools and colleges, and there is much support for the Choir from an active parents and friends association.
In addition to its main function, the Choir is often involved in recordings and engagements outside the Parish. CDs of the Choir are available from the church.
St Peter's Organist & Master of the Choristers is David Coram.
Born in Wiltshire, David was organ scholar at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, since which time a varied career in business enabled him to continue musical study with Jennifer Partridge (piano), David Briggs (improvisation) and Gillian Weir (organ) leading up to a freelance career which began in earnest in 2005.
The most recent of David's many and varied church appointments was three years as Assistant Organist at Romsey Abbey, during which time he released a solo CD to widespread critical acclaim.
More information on our choirs can be found on the choir's website, www.stpetersbournemouthchoirs.org.
The Vocal Coach and Director of the Girl Choristers is Alice Coram, and the Assistant Organist is Sam Hanson. Full biographical details for both can be found on the choir's website.
Recitals and Concerts
There has been an annual series of Lunchtime Recitals at the Church since 1972. These take place every Wednesday at 1.15pm between Easter and Christmas and we welcome a variety of different instrumentalists and singers. The first Wednesday of each month features an organ recital. Details are available from the Parish Administrator or on the Music This Month page. |
